Multidisciplinary artist Esther Miquel creates a distinctive visual language by reductiveness in form and color. The concept of "silence" is the common denominator of her work, repeated motifs (ice-axes) and symbols are fused in her minimal and abstract canvases to create a unique universe where viewers are invited to engage with the paintings on a deeper level. In her painting practice, Esther avoids drafts or sketches in favor of immediate interaction with the canvas, and experiments with speed, imperfection, and improvisation, in order to reveal unforeseen beauty. She currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
