Bob Geerts' artistic journey spans over 18 years, with 13 of those years spent as a professional tattoo artist, where he discovered strength in bold lines, vivid colors, and strong compositions inspired by vintage tattoo imagery. Seeking profound creative freedom, he returned to his roots as a painter, exploring folk and modern art, driven by the allure of market treasures across Europe and evoking enchanting stories of old.

Bob's art thrives on the interplay of materials, transcending boundaries, and experimenting with sizes and textures to create something novel and mesmerising. In this captivating journey, he finds inspiration in 1920s imagery and the modernism of painting, heavily influenced by Russian avant-garde and cubism.

His journey as tattoo artist changed Bob Geerts' perspective on creation. He believes that everything has already been done, and the key lies in tapping into what triggers and fascinates you and expressing it as they envision. Continuity in tradition is vital to him, treating some of his paintings as he would tattoos, integral parts of his artistic system. He finds immense joy in merging these two worlds, recognizing their underlying similarities while celebrating their distinctiveness.

Bob's art centers around human figures, an easily relatable canvas for emotions and stories. Through his creations, he endeavors to captivate and transport viewers to a realm where the past and present converge, where antiquity's charm coalesces with innovative expressions. The juxtaposition of brightness with melancholy, round shapes with sharp lines, and manipulated proportions all converge to create an arresting and resonant visual narrative. His art extends an invitation to embark on a captivating journey, where the tales of old intertwine with the unfettered realm of the imagination.

Popcorn and cascade bidding:

If a bid is placed during the last 2 minutes of the auction, the closing time will be automatically extended for an additional 2 minutes from the time the last bid was placed. The item will close once all bidding activity has stopped. This is recommended for high-value and popular items. Popcorn bidding prevents bidders from waiting until the last minute to bid without giving the bidders who were outbid an opportunity to rebid.

Cascade bidding ensures auction lots close at staggering times, one after another. For example, the first lot of an auction might close at 12:01pm, the second lot would close at 12:02pm, then the third lot at 12:03pm, etc.
