On Tuesday we went down to Brixton Soup Kitchen bought lunch and a Christmas tree for their HQ.
The project, founded by Solomon Smith, has been running for 8 years and is welcome to anybody who needs it. They have a great food bank, clothes bank, computers to get help with creating CVs and all sorts of support from employment to legal and mental health.
The chef cooked up a steak casserole with rice, cabbage and peas, roast spuds and a sailfish fritter. After serving all the guests of the day, we had to munch a plate ourselves and it slapped.
Thanks for having us, Brixton Soup Kitchen.
