‘From the Bay’
- Xin Yu
SOLD OUT - Xin Yu - Toy Bus£0.00

Xin Yu (b. 1996) was born in China and raised in the US. She is an architect turned artist, turning the logical and ordered perspective of an architect to the imaginary yet familiar spaces of our mind. She explores the abilities of intense colours and geometries and their effect on the comfort of space. In creations between reality and fiction, her paintings push and pull the audience, asking of their undivided breadth of perception. If one looks close enough, each of her works are mischievous in nature, calling forth a humorously unsettling world much like our own. The ultimate aim of her work is to bring positivity and happiness to its viewer. In our upcoming Hong Kong show of Xin Yu's work she will be presenting two pieces; one painting atop a salvaged London bus panel, and another on a miniature toy double decker bus.
Xin's solo show consists of painting upon a salvaged London bus panel and toy bus with the proceeds going towards supporting London’s homeless and disadvantaged youth.
Side Space is a mini gallery space that pays homage to Hong Kong's unique vernacular spaces. Sitting among garages and shops in Tai Hang, Side Space adds a touch of culture to the neighbourhood through exhibitions with artists from around the world.
