Seoul based artist Choi Eun Byol works with sculpture, oil paint, and tufting, creating reflections of herself through all visible emotions. Under the name LOFI Collective, she creates art toys of women, often distorted or abstracted.
Choi Eun Byol frequently acquires the motives for her characters from musicians such as Radiohead or Travis, putting her figures into the scenarios of famous songs. She also draws on her personal experiences, romanticising them in art. Whether skateboarding or staring into the mirror, each piece is obviously imbued with a depth of complicated feelings.
