Name: Edmund

"The style of this painting is influenced by Japanese print maker, Hokusai and Dutch painter, Vincent Van Gogh. 
Edmund has combined the two artist’s styles because, despite being born just under 100 years from each other, he admires their unique and interesting styles. Edmund’s painting also pays homage to the fact that Van Gogh was deeply inspired by Japanese print as they taught him a new way of looking at the world which resulted in his signature style. To balance this exchange of inspiration, Edmund is also interested in the West's influence on Eastern painting. 
The title, Boundless Sky and Endless Sea, is a direct translation from a Chinese saying about freedom and limitless sea."
