"I love the concept, London buses are legendary, being able to paint on them is an honour and I like the idea of recycling them. The theme came to me directly, it was obvious for me to paint the cat bus. The title is Neko Bus, Neko means "cat" in Japanese. It is a character in the Japanese anime "Totoro" (My daughters favourite one ^^)" - Geoffrey Bouillot
Influenced by pop art, cubism, and Italian futurism, French born and Japan based artist Geoffrey Bouillot paints distinct figures across two cultures. With a sharp eye for light and balance, Bouillot works across the rich palette of black, white, and everywhere in between.
Constructing solely with black and white gradients, he manages to produce wondrously deep portraits, landscapes, and interiors. Besides the mesmerising visual quality of the work, his style is also an attempt at distilling a subject to its essential spirit. By focusing on the form and texture of his characters, Bouillot can better reveal the essence of its body and place in culture. His characters, often from pop culture, act as surrogates for a multicultural background. They are remixed and refined in a way that must be indicative of an upbringing blended across continents. This cross contamination of culture and technique is what allows Geoffrey Bouillot to create something as completely unique as this.
Framing: We recommend displaying a bus panel floating in a frame (frame not included)

Popcorn bidding: If a bid is placed during the last 5 minutes of the auction, the closing time will be automatically extended for an additional five minutes from the time the last bid was placed. The item will close once all bidding activity has stopped. This is recommended for high-value and popular items. Popcorn bidding prevents bidders from waiting until the last minute to bid without giving the bidders who were outbid an opportunity to rebid.
