Lauren DelBrocco, a Rhode Island based traditional metalsmith, specialises in hollowware, jewellery, and mechanisms. She holds a B.F.A. in Metalsmithing & Jewellery Design from Rhode Island College and an M.F.A. in Metal Design from East Carolina University. Her work is complex in design, layered with moving parts, and uses various fabrication and finishing processes. She thinks of her art as conversation display pieces, a representation of recognisable forms with an invitation to explore and become curious. She recently completed a collection of sensory-provoking cooking and serving tools that has inspired her contemporary jewellery collection.

Lauren was selected for the Society of North American Goldsmith Education Endowment Scholarship, Women’s Jewellery Association Scholarship, is a 2nd-time receipt of the Antonio Cirino Memorial Fund grant, and awardee of the 2020 Honoured Instructor Award for High level of Instruction and Support to Students. She is active in her metals community; in 2020, she was the Co-Chair for the Material Topics Symposium Contemporary Clarity 2020. In 2021 she participated as a panel speaker for the R.I. I.M.A.G.I.N.E.s Peace exhibition and symposium, raising awareness of gun violence through decommissioned guns transformed into art objects. She helped organise the Adorned Spaces exhibition for the Society of North American Goldsmiths in May 2022.

Most recently, Lauren has been working on a collaborative necklace with Christopher Zidek for Plan B, a traveling metalsmithing show raising money for Planned Parenthood. In addition, she is part of a U.S. coalition of Metalsmiths working with 4BySix; a group in London raising money for disadvantaged and homeless people by transforming decommissioned London bus panels into art.
