Wayne Horse, born 1981, is a German-born artist based in Amsterdam, whose work is an eclectic collection of fine art, blind drawing, videography, as well as audio production and installation. His abstract way of working places a focus on the bizarre yet compelling aspects of humanity and offers a critical analysis of the political and cultural norms that make up contemporary society. Wayne Horse’s provocative work has, for this reason, been described as “ethnographic surrealism,” taking the familiar aspects of daily life and turning them into something unrecognisable. From this point, it provokes the viewer into direct interaction with his work.
Wayne Horse has taken part in solo and group exhibitions for almost two decades on a global scale. Recent shows include Harlan Levey Projects in Brussels, Galerie Droste in Düsseldorf and Murals Inc. in Rotterdam.
