Alexander Owen (b. 1996) lives and works in London.
Through his work, Owen explores the relationship between new digital media and painting. Owen’s works look at the way objects can interact and behave outside of what would be possible in the real world through the use of digital 3D rendering softwares. The final aesthetic of Owen’s paintings don’t shy away from their digital origins, mimicking the smooth textures and high contrast of the rendered world.
Through the lens of contemporary queer culture, current works have a focus on hardware, tools and the machismo of trade; exploring the prevalent link between these themes and queer culture both in current times and past.

Popcorn and cascade bidding:
If a bid is placed during the last 2 minutes of the auction, the closing time will be automatically extended for an additional 2 minutes from the time the last bid was placed. The item will close once all bidding activity has stopped. This is recommended for high-value and popular items. Popcorn bidding prevents bidders from waiting until the last minute to bid without giving the bidders who were outbid an opportunity to rebid.
Cascade bidding ensures auction lots close at staggering times, one after another. For example, the first lot of an auction might close at 12:01pm, the second lot would close at 12:02pm, then the third lot at 12:03pm, etc.
