Tomas Gittins (b.1996) is a Brazilian-English multidisciplinary artist based in Manchester, known for his bold and distinctive faces and characters exploring emotion, identity and personal experience. Originally from Macclesfield, Gittins uses art as a way of translating thoughts and feelings into vivid, playful forms. His mantra, “The Joy Must Grow,” reflects the optimism and emotional honesty at the heart of his practice. Spanning painting, canvas, clothing, street art and collaborative projects, his work is shaped by Manchester’s creative culture, combining art and cultural references to transform personal experiences into an accessible visual language that is instantly recognisable, personal and continually evolving.
